LA to Berlin transplant Portrait XO is the inaugural Resident Artist at Factory Berlin. She is a singer, songwriter, producer and installation artist utilizing emerging technology such as AR, VR and AI in her work.
Since moving to Berlin Portrait's career has taken off, thanks to her overlapping presence in the science, tech, and music scenes. She reflects on her move to Berlin in our recent interview with her: "I've always wanted to live in Berlin because of its liberal approach to creativity. There's also more humanity in Berlin with its bigger focus on social well-being. I needed to be in a place where there's a higher quality of life so I can afford to experiment. Berlin has a higher focus on how far you can push your creativity, not just about making hit songs like in LA. I'm more interested in doing things differently and all this emerging tech is what inspires me most." We are excited to see Portrait XO's career continue to flourish in Berlin and LA alike!
Portrait XO is the inaugural Resident Artist at Factory Berlin as a singer/songwriter/producer/installation artist exploring emerging technology such as AR/VR/AI. Late May, she performed her latest AI musical 4-piece movement '_______ __ _ WIRE' AI with creative technologists CJ Carr from DADABOTS and VanTa at sold-out event 'THE CREATIVE CODE'. At TOA19 in the Arts program curated by Your Mom's Agency, she presented a hololens AR installation in collaboration with illustrator Opashona Ghosh, she also gave a workshop on mental health for creatives, she sat at a panel discussion about the crossover between science and arts, and she was part of the Battle of Sounds using Akai Pro and Roli gear.
